Tweeddale Rideability Group SCIO

Our Facilities

The Tweeddale Rideability Group has the use of an indoor arena with a sand surface - the arena is equipped with an automatic sprinkler system to keep the dust down. We're immensely grateful to the Wooden Spoon for a very generous donation which enabled us to buy a portakabin which we use as a tack room and meeting place. There is also a disabled toilet, car park, field shelter for the ponies, and an electric hoist which enables riders to mount on to the larger ponies safely and comfortably.

We're very lucky to have seven horses and ponies. Riding sessions take place on Mondays when there are three sessions and on Saturdays when there are two sessions, all taking place during school terms. We also offer riding during the summer holidays. Our four coaches share the teaching, Annette Hammond-Chambers, Dhileas Lukas and Helen Lodge taking the Monday rides, and Katherine Carson teaching on Saturdays.
