Our Facilities at Crookston Farm

The group has the use of an indoor arena with a sand surface, the arena is equipped with an automatic sprinkler system to keep the dust down. We are immensely grateful to the Wooden Spoon for a very generous donation which enabled the purchase of a portakabin which we use as a tackroom and meeting place, there are also disabled toilets, a car park, field shelter for the ponies, and a horse trailer, and our most recent purchase was an electric hoist which enables riders to mount on to the larger ponies safely and comfortably.

We are very lucky to have the use of nine horses and ponies, six of which are used for each ride. Riding classes are divided into three sessions on a Monday during school terms with two instructresses - Annette Hammond-Chambers (who is also the Regional County Chairman) and Dhileas Lukas, and one session on a Saturday with Katherine Carson instructing.
